Hi everyone,
The Northwest Motorsports ICSCC sports car races will be held on July 9-11, 2010 at Spokane Country Raceway Park. I want to thank everyone who volunteered last year for making those races so successful. We received many comments regarding the quality and energy that you provided last year. We will need as many volunteers as possible each day this year. There is a "historics" race happening on the same weekend in the Portland area, so many of the Portland volunteers will not be here this year. Please let me know if you will be able to volunteer for one, two, or all three days. We will need at least 30+ volunteers this year. Those with race experience will be especially needed. New volunteers are always welcome too! Remember, each volunteer gets lunch each day and dinner provided on Friday and Saturday nights. For those coming from out of town, arrangements can be made to help with the motel expense (if needed) and gas expense. If you have any questions, please contact myself or the race chairman, Doug Smith, at skypilot66@comcast.com. This is going to be another exciting three days of racing. Come out and join us!!

|

Hi everyone,
We will be having a volunteer breakfast for all those who will be volunteering one, two, or three days at the upcoming races. It will be held on Saturday, June 26th, at Rosauers restaurant just north of the Division Y. The breakfast will start at 8:30am. We will be reviewing track procedures, flags, communication, and any other questions. The club will be paying for the breakfast. We have less than four weeks until the races! We need at least 20 more volunteers. Thanks to those that have already volunteered!! We will be needing at least 25 - 30 folks to man the various turn startions and other positions in timing/scoring, hot pits, etc. Our goal is to have an experienced turn marshal at each station with two other volunteers. You don't need prior experience, just a desire to see great racing and help keep the track safe for the drivers. If you have some friends that might be interested, please share my emails with them. Please let me know if you can volunteer and which days. Also, the club will be helping with gas and motel expense for those coming from out of town. Thanks again!

Hi everyone,
We have picked up a few more volunteers over the past week. Thanks to everyone that has volunteered. We still need about 10+ more per day to insure good track coverage and safety. Please share the request with your friends, inlaws, outlaws, and coworkers. NWMS is also having a work party tomorrow evening, starting about 5pm. If you can come out and help spruce up the areas around the turn stations, please bring trimmers, weed wackers, etc. Remember to wear white shirts and long pants on the days you are volunteering. I am enclosing the link to the ICSCC website. Once there, click on Spokane Grand Prix and open the Race announcement. It will have the schedule for all three days. The Race Chairman, Doug Smith, also sent the following out regarding activities during the race weekend. Thanks again to everyone who has already volunteered.

Hi everyone,
Only a few days until the races! We still need folks to volunteer for the turn stations. The volunteer meeting times are Firday - 8am, Saturday - 7:30am, Sunday - 7 am. Remember, white shirts and long pants are required for safety reasons on the turn stations and other areas. It's going to be hot so come prepared. The club will be supplying plenty of bottled water to the turn stations. I will not have email access from about 3pm Thursday on. If you have a change in plans or just decide to come out and help, just show up at the volunteer meeting in the morning each day and we will find a spot for you. Don't let a lack of experience keep you from coming out. All volunteers will be placed on a turn station with an experienced "turn marshall". Friday is a great day to learn the ropes during the practice and qualifying sessions during the day. Any questions, please email me or call. Hope to see many of you at the races this weekend either as volunteers or spectators. Thanks to everyone who has already volunteered.
